Meet our Founder!
My name is Florenia Gogou. I was born in Greece, where I finished my school education.
My passion for teaching started at the age of 5, where I was writing my own books and explaining them to my dolls!
My dream came true, as I studied Greek Language (Classics) at the University of Ioannina, Greece, where I specialized in Modern and Ancient Greek, Latin, and Greek Literature.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Potsdam, Germany, specializing in Ethics, Human Rights, and Culture.
Since I was a student, I have continuously attended seminars, workshops and conferences to further improve the ways of teaching Greek as a second foreign language, and be more efficient with kids and adults.
I also have several years of experience of active participation in teaching and educational activities with refugees, special schools, philanthropic organizations, and experimental schools, among other initiatives.
Having lived in Greece, Norway, Canada, Ireland, and Germany, I very much appreciate the value of continuous and high-quality education, beyond location restrictions.
In 2017 I created an online Greek school: Hellenicon Greeklessons started officially as an innovative platform that would be able to spread knowledge across the world, breaking the borders of in-person lessons, offering possibilities with new technologies and advancing multiple learning skills through virtual classrooms and diverse student groups.
Throughout these years, we have experienced many success stories with students from different countries, and also many special moments. We keep turning this experience and lessons into motivation and opportunities.
We are proud and grateful to see Hellenicon growing, becoming resilient to many changes, and being fed with our students love and successes.
